Programmes for employee referrals have shown to be an economical approach to access a large, qualified labour pool of passive job searchers. Outside of their organisations, employees regularly network with colleagues in their professions and past coworkers, providing them access to highly skilled cohorts who may not be actively looking for a new job but might consider one if the chance presented. Through referral programmes, all workers basically become recruiters.
